Hydrolysates

Hydrolysates refer to any product of hydrolysis. Protein hydrolysates has special applications in sports medicine because its consumption allows amino acid to be absorbed by the body than intact proteins, thus maximising nutrient delivery to muscle tissues. it is also used in biotechnology industry as supplement to cell cultures.

Protein hydrolysates are used for patients having difficulty in digesting or absorbing intact proteins, malabsorption issues or gastrointestinal disorders.

Hydrolysed proteins are utilized in some infant formulas to cater to babies with cow's milk protein allergy or sensitivity. The hydrolysed proteins are easier to digest and are less likely to trigger allergic reactions.
